Alabama’s 19th annual sales tax holiday for school-related items allows shoppers to purchase certain school supplies, computers, books, and clothing free of the state’s four percent sales or use tax. To see the list of 2024 participating Alabama Cities and Counties click on the link below.  If your state does not sponsor a tax-free weekend, consider driving to a nearby state that does. Alternatively, contact your local state representative to request they initiate sales tax holiday legislation for your area. [2024 Participating Cities & Counties](https://www.revenue.alabama.gov/sales-use/alabama-back-to-school-sales-tax-holiday-participating-localities/) Tax-free purchases will include clothing priced at $100 or less, school supplies valued at $50 or less, required books that cost $30 or less, and computers and computer equipment with a selling price of $750 or less.
