To our valued clients,

Unemployment claims are on the rise across the nation due to COVID-19. During this time, additional benefits up to $600 have been paid to workers in addition to the regular state unemployment. This has caused a significant rise in fraudulent unemployment claims.

Many employers submitted letters to their states to waive their rights to unemployment responses during this time. This means it is extremely important for you to be reviewing the claims you receive in the mail or via email. Fraudulent claims are not just employees filing while they are still working, it is also people filing in other’s names. This is a form of identity theft and should not be taken lightly.

The state of Alabama is not taking these claims lightly, and they are working to ensure all fraudulent claims are handled. However, there is a large caseload. This means longer wait times and slower response times. Click here for state contact information on where to report fraud.
